| Introduction | This course is developed for upvc manufacturing staff who are involved in the installation of replacement windows and doors and need to have knowledge and understanding of Gas safety regulations and air ventilation requirements for gas appliance and unsafe situations. |
| Aims | The aims of the course are to provide delegates with the knowledge and understanding of all aspects of combustion and the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. The requirements for adequate ventilation and an understanding of how ventilation should be sized, installed and manufactured. |

º Main characteristics of combustion. º Identify burner flame picture. º Air requirements for completed combustion. º Signs of incomplete combustion. º Causes of incomplete combustion. º Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. º Advice to persons affected by products of incomplete combustion. º An overview of gas regulations (particular attention to reg 8). º The role of corgi. º Unsafe situations procedure (riddor). º An understanding of Pennine vent products. |
