Mayor of Sunderland Councillor Jim Smith has personally recognised the contribution that Lomax Training Services has made to the City and the North of England.

Cllr Smith, who joined the celebrations at the opening of the company's new Howdon training centre, hosted a reception for members of the Lomax team at his parlour in the Civic Centre.

He said he was very impressed with the work Lomax is doing and thanked the team for their work with local companies and the council itself.
"The Council supported us in our early days developing the company and there is no doubt they contributed to our early success," said Managing Director Jim Lomax.

"We have been delighted to secure the council housing department as a client and it was really quite special for the Mayor to recognise our success."
