Life at the Lomax training centres continues to be busy with new courses constantly being developed by the team.A partnership with North Tyneside college means dozens of people new to utility work can enter the industry by undertaking an NVQ in gas network operations.
Work is also going on to develop more partnerships working with both national and regional utility companies which could establish Lomax as the North's biggest training organisation of its kind.
Acourse is being planned specifically to meet the growing concerns about legionella, with levels for managers and supervisors and for engineers and technicians.
The course manuals and planning are completed and accreditation is imminent.
The training team is also awaiting information on the new "electrics" qualification expected to be needed by gas engineers to fulfil Part P of Building Regulations. To fulfil Part L of Building Regulations, Lomax already offers City and Guilds in energy efficiency.Return to Top of page
