Unvented Domestic Hot Water Systems - Posted 8th December 2005.

There is now a legal requirement for plumbers, heating and gas engineers who install unvented domestic hot water storage systems, to update their skills every five years to retain their qualification certificates.

A two day course to train established craftsmen to the necessary standard and to assess their competence is now available and leads to the required certification lasting for five years.

The course includes work on unvented systems and their controls; storage units and packages; installation, commissioning and maintenance; and sealed systems.
